Step by Step: What Actually Happens

This is a detailed walkthrough of every step from booking to the final review. No guessing, no surprises. You know exactly what to expect before, during, and after your session.

1

Step One

Book and Schedule Your Appointment

Use our Microsoft Bookings page to choose a day and time that works for you. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday, with same-day slots often open. The booking system is connected directly to our team's calendar so you always see real-time availability. Select "Remote Computer Support" from the service menu and choose your preferred time. You will receive an instant email confirmation with everything you need.

Tip: Have your computer turned on and connected to the internet before your scheduled time. Keep the booking confirmation email open so you can reference the session instructions easily.
2

Step Two

Check Your Inbox: Sign the Consent Form and Terms of Service

Shortly after booking, you will receive an email containing a consent form and our Terms of Service. This document outlines exactly what we will do during the session, how your data is protected, and your rights as a client. You must review and digitally sign this form before your session begins. This protects you and ensures full transparency. The process takes under two minutes. If you do not see the email, check your spam or junk folder and add navateksolutions.com to your safe senders list.

Tip: The consent form also gives you the opportunity to note any specific concerns, symptoms your computer is showing, or programs you want us to pay particular attention to.
3

Step Three

Download and Install the RMM Agent and Secure Remote Client

Before your session, download and install two lightweight tools. These are safe, industry-standard applications used by IT professionals worldwide. They allow our technician to securely connect to your computer during the session. Both tools are uninstalled or deactivated at your request once the session is complete.

Tip: If you receive a Windows Defender SmartScreen prompt during installation, click "More Info" and then "Run Anyway." These tools are signed and verified. Your confirmation email also includes step-by-step installation instructions with screenshots.
4

Step Four

Join the Microsoft Teams Session

At your appointment time, your technician will initiate a Microsoft Teams meeting. A link will be sent to your email. Simply click the link and join the meeting from any browser โ€” no Teams account or app download is required on your end. This meeting serves as your live communication channel with the technician throughout the entire session. You can ask questions, provide feedback, and follow along in real time. If you prefer to use the Teams desktop app, that works too.

Tip: Use headphones or earbuds if possible to keep both hands free. Have a glass of water nearby โ€” this may take 30 to 60 minutes depending on the condition of your system.
5

Step Five

Grant Access by Accepting the Secure Remote Session Prompt

Once you are in the Teams meeting and your technician is ready to begin, they will initiate a secure remote access session through the installed client. You will see a pop-up on your screen asking you to accept or deny the connection. You must actively click Accept for the session to begin. The technician cannot access your computer without this explicit approval from you. You maintain full control and can end the session at any point by simply clicking a button or closing the remote access window.

Security Note: Our remote sessions use 256-bit AES encryption. Every session is logged with a timestamp, technician ID, and session recording for your protection. We never ask for passwords to personal accounts, email inboxes, or banking.
6

Step Six

Watch the Cleanup Happen โ€” or Step Away

Once the session is active, you have two options. You can watch every action the technician takes on your screen in real time through the Teams meeting video feed. This is a great way to learn what was slowing your computer down and what is being done to fix it. Alternatively, you can step away and let us work. When the cleanup is complete, your technician will notify you through the Teams meeting. Either option is perfectly fine โ€” you are always in control.

Tip: If you stay and watch, feel free to ask your technician questions throughout the session. We enjoy explaining what we are doing and why it helps your computer perform better.
7

Computer Cleanup FAQs

Answers to the questions we get asked most often before and after cleanup sessions.

Yes. The session uses 256-bit AES encryption and you must actively accept the connection request before the technician can see your screen. You can watch everything that happens in real time and can end the session instantly at any point. Every session is logged with a timestamp and session ID for your records. We never ask for passwords to personal accounts, email, banking, or social media.
Most cleanup sessions take between 45 minutes and 90 minutes depending on the condition of your computer. Heavily cluttered systems with significant malware may take a bit longer. You will receive an estimated duration from your technician at the start of the session. You can stay on the call throughout, or step away and be notified when the work is complete.
Yes. Our cleanup service supports both Windows (7, 10, 11) and macOS computers. The specific tools and procedures differ between platforms, but the level of thoroughness is the same. macOS users will need to download the macOS version of the remote client, which is available on the downloads page and will also be included in your confirmation email.
Absolutely not. We only remove system-level clutter: temporary files, browser cache, junk data, and malware. Your personal documents, photos, downloads, and application data are never touched. If we identify something that appears to be removable but want to confirm with you first, we will always ask before taking any action.
There is no contract and no subscription. This is a true one-time service. You pay the flat $49 fee after the session is complete, not before. A secure payment link is sent to your email once the technician confirms the session is finished and you are satisfied with the result.
If you are not satisfied after the session, contact us before submitting payment. We will review the situation and either re-do the session at no charge or discuss whether a hardware issue is the root cause. In some cases, the computer may have hardware problems such as a failing hard drive or insufficient RAM that cannot be resolved with software alone. If that is the case, we will tell you clearly and honestly what your options are.
Not at all. If you can click a link and follow simple instructions, you can use this service. We walk you through every step from installing the remote client to joining the Teams meeting. Our technicians are patient, friendly, and experienced working with users of all technical backgrounds including seniors, small business owners, and people who rarely use a computer outside of basic tasks.
Yes. The $49 fee applies per device. If you have multiple computers at your office or home that need attention, each device will be a separate session. For businesses with five or more devices, ask us about our monthly managed IT plans which include ongoing monitoring, support, and maintenance at a per-seat flat monthly rate.
Our remote cleanup service does not access, view, or transmit any patient health information (PHI). The cleanup process focuses entirely on system-level files, temporary data, and software configuration. We do not touch medical records software, patient databases, or any application containing PHI. Healthcare offices should note that if their computer contains PHI accessible on the desktop or in open browser tabs, they should close those before beginning the session. Our full managed IT plans include HIPAA-ready compliance documentation.

Your Computer Was Fast Once.
It Can Be Fast Again.

Stop putting up with a slow, sluggish, or cluttered computer. For $49 and about an hour of your time, our certified technicians will clean it up, speed it up, and make sure it is secure. No contract. No subscription. No surprises.
